Old and New Truths

William James , an American psychologist, was famous for spreading the theory of pragmatism. This teaches us that humans consider something true when it is useful and practical. 🚀 Therefore , as we become older we modify the truths and thus replace the old for new truths.

In the first letter to the Corinthians chapter 3 verse 3 … Paul invites us to be spiritual people:

You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

and that is why we must put aside old truths , those who now do not fit in with who we are and we instead should accept the realm of benevolent possibilities God gives us . We must be in constant updates , just as apps do; Whatsapp , Facebook , etc.

For example , we were taught to argue against any insult , we now know that not all fights are worthy of being challenged. 😛 God calls us to take control of our tongue ; to be silent and to speak when necessary . Similarly, when we are humiliated : instead of revenge , we can let Jesus play his role as a lawyer and defender , and we can rest in the peace that Christ gives us . 😇

That which hurts us should not be part of our new life . We learn to be part of the reality that Christ gives us and not what the world offers us . The old truths can leave, Jesus allows us to leave them as obsolete. 🌠

With love to the innovation ,
